We are honored to announce that Janet Pierrehumbert, founding member of the Association for Laboratory Phonology, has been elected as a Member of the National Academy of Sciences. She joins a small number of linguists in the Academy, including Noam Chomsky, Paul Kay, Bill Labov, and Barbara Partee.
